How does pre-certification tie into direct billing?

Pre-certification is required for many inpatient and outpatient treatments according to the terms and conditions of the SmartBunny International policy's certificate. In order to provide the direct billing facility with the information required to complete direct billing, pre-certification must be completed. Failure to comply with pre-certification guidelines may result in the provider charging for services at the time rendered and/or a reduction of eligible benefits.
