Summary of SmartBunny's travel insurance policies for US residents

Our available plans are:

1. Trip Protection (USA Plus Plan)

• Coverage area: Anywhere in the world, more than 100 miles from your residence
• Coverage for:
  • Emergency Medical expenses:
    • This plan provides up to $250,000* of coverage for emergency medical expenses while traveling within the US (when you're more than 100 miles from your residence) and while traveling anywhere else in the world. Coverage limits vary depending on where you live (*coverage limit is $20,000 for residents of Missouri and Washington, and $150,000 for residents of New York, Oregon, Montana and Pennsylvania, per State regulations)
    • This policy treats COVID-19 as any other sickness, and so can provide coverage for such expenses while traveling, up to the limits of your policy.
  • Trip Cancellation or Trip Interruption expenses:
    • This policy also insures your pre-paid, non-refundable trip costs, in the event your travel plans are canceled prior to departure (or interrupted after departure) due to an unforeseen reason listed in your policy wording.
    • This may include, but is not necessarily limited to, the following covered reasons for Trip Cancellation – all of which could be triggered directly or indirectly by the COVID-19 pandemic. The exact language in each Plan may vary and not all covered reasons are included in each issued Plan: 
      • Sickness 
      • Death 
      • Quarantine 
      • Called to military duty for a national disaster 
      • Family or friends unable to provide accommodations due to life-threatening illness or death 
      • Being required to work during the trip 
      • Being laid off or fired from your job

• Available to travelers 14 days old to 99 years of age
• Maximum trip length is 90 days, with extensions available.

2. Emergency Medical (SmartBunny International Plan)

• Coverage area: Worldwide, excluding within the USA
• This provides up to $5,000,000 for eligible medical expenses while traveling anywhere in the world outside of the United States.
• Available to travelers up to 79 years of age (Coverage limit drops to $250k for travelers aged 70-79)
• Good for trip lengths up to 365 days, but can be extended to provide coverage for up to 2 years.
• There is currently no coverage for trip costs under this plan. If you want insurance to cover your travel costs, please purchase the Trip Protection plan (USA Plus plan).

3. Annual Multi-trip COVID-19 plan

• Providing coverage for emergency travel medical expenses related to COVID-19 only, this is an annual policy that covers you for an entire year of travel - you can take as many trips as you want throughout the year, on trips of up to 30 days each (extensions of coverage are available for longer trips (up to 180 days max) upon request and for an additional premium).
• Available to travelers under the age of 75
• Includes coverage for Quarantine expenses following a positive COVID-19 diagnosis while traveling (up to $200/day, to a maximum of $2,800) for meals and accommodations.
• Also provides Trip Cancellation & Trip Interruption coverage up to $2,500 per person, per trip! (max $10,000 per family, covers COVID-related reasons only). For Trip Cancellation to be included, this policy must be purchased within 72 hours of paying for your trip.
• $500,000 coverage limit
